Polona Tratnik is active in culture since 1997 as an artist, organizer, curator, editor, critic, researcher etc. For her work in culture she received awards: Golden Bird, student Prešeren award, nomination for Prešeren fund award (2009), the most reputable award in Slovenia. She has participated at some major world-recognized cultural events: Festival Ars Electronica (Linz, 2008), Bios 4 (Sevilla, 2007), Vit<a>rti (Antwerpen, 2007), In Vivo in Vitro (Athens, 2006), Biennial for Electronic Arts (Perth, 2004), L'Art Biotech (Nantes, 2003) etc. public presentations (exhibitions etc.) She is one of the pioneer artists in the field of bio art. From the nineties on she has organized various cultural events (symposiums, lectures, exhibitions etc.) Between 1997 and 2002 she organized guest lectures at the Academy for Fine Arts (Spaces of Art) and published a monograph. She is a secretary of Slovenian Society of Aesthetics (since 2005), a member of its executive committee (since 2001) and an active member (from 2000). In 2006 she was a member of the organizing committee of the III. Mediterranean Congress of Aesthetics (Portorož, SLO). From 2007 on she is a member of the programme committee of Collegium Artium for cultural programme at UP FHS, within which she also holds a course on film. cv pedagogical

She is a director of the institute Horizonti (for science, culture, art and education). In 2005 she was an art director of the Break 2.3 festival for contemporary research art titled New Species, for which she organized a conference under the same title as well. In 1998 she finished a course on curating within The World of Art SCCA, and co-curated a project Obiskovalci / Posjetioci (= Visitors, 1999). In 2005 she was a curator of the project Green as I Love You Greenly within Artreflect insitute.

She published a monograph on the end of art, several scientific and professional contributions in monographs, periodical publications and at the conferences, and has been active as an editor in the field of culture as well. cv research

In the field of writing she got an award Spletno pero a short prose, and a Preglej award for her drama text Čakalnica (= Waiting Room). In December 2007 the latter was put reading on stage in Cankarjev dom (Ljubljana) within the project Preglej na glas at the Exodos festival (the text has been published in a monograph Daj dramo!: deset dramskih besedil, Ljubljana: Kulturno društvo Integrali, Gledališce Glej, Javni sklad RS za kulturne dejavnosti; New York: WaxFactory, 2007). http://www.cd-cc.si, http://www.exodos.si.
